The Woodbridge Flute Choir, directed by Debbie Gilbert and assisted by Lisa Sheldone, will present its annual Holiday Concert on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 3:00PM at Greenwich Presbyterian Church in Nokesville, VA.

The concert will benefit “Farthest Corners,” a non-profit organization based in Nokesville and Thailand that provides humanitarian, medical, spiritual and educational assistance to the displaced people of Burma.  Admission is free but a free-will offering will be taken for Farthest Corners to purchase medical kits, rice and other necessary items for refugees along the Thailand/Burma border.

The concert will feature Woodbridge members Julie McDonald, Stephanie Hurst and Margo Kujat as soloists in Corelli’s beautiful Concerto Grosso Op. 6 No. 8 known as the “Christmas Concerto.” Guest harpist Cambria Van de Vaarst and guest percussionist Colson Meeks will join the choir in performing Jackson Berkey’s Charmingly Perfect Child which is based on the Christmas carol He Is Born and Silver Winds in the Night which is an arrangement of Silent Night. Colson Meeks will also join the choir on Dawn Snow by Melvin Lauf, Jr. and Cambria will join the flute choir in the arrangement of Charles Gounod’s Ave Maria adapted from J.S. Bach’s Prelude No. 1.

The choir will also perform An Antiphonal Christmas by David Heywood, Haydn’s Toy Symphony (with toy instruments!), Parade of the Wooden Soldiers by Steve Sample, and Jingle Bells by Chris Ridenhour,
